PRP Therapy

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma):

Platelets in blood are best known for clotting blood during an injury. However, platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries.
PRP is plasma with a high concentration of platelets and growth factors, and by injecting platelet rich plasma into areas of an injury, the procedure uses the body’s own ability to help heal many conditions. PRFM is an even further development which produces a fibrin mesh that sustains the platelets to the area injected to provide continued growth factor release over a longer period of time, further enhancing the benefits of the treatment. Conditions commonly treated with PRP/PRFM are chronic pain from injury or degeneration. At, Integrated Medical Center of Florida, our PRP preparations can be individualized to meet your specific therapy needs. Dr. Savignano is an expert on PRP Therapy and he has been servicing the New Port Richey community for years. Schedule a consultation today to see if PRP Therapy is right for you!

What is PRP Therapy?

PRP Therapy is the injection of concentrated plasma directly into the tissues surrounding an inflamed or injured joint to promote healing. The process begins with Dr. Savignano drawing blood from a patient. Then the platelets are separated from the other blood cells and are then concentrated during a process called centrifugation. Next, the enhanced plasma is combined with the remaining blood and is injected directly into the injured area or inflamed tissue. The entire process can take place on the same day of your consultation and requires minimal downtime. Patients typically see results within 3-6 weeks but sometimes as early as 3-5 days.

Does PRP Therapy Work?

Regenerative Therapies like PRP Therapy have shown great promise. Every case is different, but PRP Therapy has already helped thousands of patients across the nation. It is the latest breakthrough in regenerative therapies.

What are the benefits of Regenerative Therapy over drugs and surgery?

Unlike drugs, Regenerative Therapy has the ability to regrow lost or worn out tissue. Regenerative Therapy is corrective rather than palliative. In other words, it fixes the problem and heals the damaged tissues. Regenerative cell therapy is usually a single injection, making it much less invasive than surgery, and there are no known adverse side effects. Regenerative cell therapy is not covered by insurance (currently) but compared to the risks involved with traditional treatments, it is more than affordable. Regenerative cell therapy has a higher efficacy than surgery and carries much less risk. If you’re living with pain, it’s time to consider Regenerative Therapy. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Savignano today to see if Regenerative Therapy is right for you.
